Results Day and What To Do About Your University Accommodation

17 August 2016

It’s finally here, results day. *deep breath*

The outcome to all of those late night revision sessions, coursework rewrites, sweat, tears and tense exams.

Undoubtedly you’ll be hoping for the best grades possible, and we’re sure that for most of you, this will be the case. However, it is important to remember that if you don’t quite reach the marks you had hoped for, there is still plenty of opportunity out there and no matter how you may feel after receiving your results, they won’t be the thing that defines who you are and what you’re capable of throughout your life.

Easy for us to say, of course, but just trust us on this one.

To make life a little less stressful, we've put together a couple of simple steps to help you with your University accommodation. So no matter what happens on results day, you will know exactly what to do about your living situation...

1)      Hurrah! I got the results I wanted and am off to University.

Congratulations! If you have already booked a room with us for that University then you have nothing to do accept to ensure that we have all of your guarantor details and that you have booked your date/time of arrival in September. If you’ve been holding out for your results before booking accommodation, then take a look at our locations page to find out where our properties are and what availability we still have for them, alternatively contact the main Derwent Students number on 0115 855 9670.

2)      Erm, I didn’t quite make the grades.

Are you considering going through Clearing? There are lots of courses across the UK available so be sure to take a look at the UCAS website should you wish to find another. We have properties in Nottingham, Sheffield, Derby, Newcastle, Carlisle, Cambridge and Wrexham, so make sure you take a look at our availability to sort your accommodation too. If you have booked to stay with us and have paid your deposit, please contact the accommodation as soon as you can to let them know. If you inform us within 3 working days, you will be eligible to get your full deposit back. Nice and easy!

For further information on what to do following you’re A Level results, visit the UCAS website here: https://www.ucas.com/ucas/undergraduate/apply-and-track/results/results-%E2%80%93-what-you-need-know
